My friends and I often joke about reaching The Tippy Top - personified by that awe-inspiring moment when you're standing at the summit of a mountain feeling like you're at the top of the world!  Imagine feeling that sense of accomplishment and inner joy all the time. Now, while great wealth has no correlation with happiness, a lack of financial stability means that your life choices are so constrained that being happy becomes extremely difficult.

Practically, everyone cannot be wealthy, however there is no reason why anyone responsible person should have to worry about money. I have never been truly poor but I have often been concerned about my financial situation, and I like to think of myself as fairly responsible person.... In the modern world, financial instability is probably one of the most debilitating forms of stress so I am making it my mission to empower everyone through education in an effort to eradicate inequality and allow less fortunate individuals to lead fuller, happier lives.

Financial success is of course just the Tip of the iceberg but it provides a solid foundation for everything else!

Countless people have selflessly helped me on my journey thus far and I realise that, without their help, I would not have achieved half as much. Similarly, it brings me great pleasure when I positively impact the lives of others. To date, I have being doing this on an individual basis but now I want to scale this influence and hopefully make a widespread positive impact.

To clarify, I subscribe to capitalism and do not believe that it is inherently evil. However, as with everything, the practical implementation is usually a far cry from the original intention. The current world economic playing field is geared towards those already at the top. I plan to close this gap and empower the underdogs to succeed.

Contrary to popular belief in many circles, empowering others is not a zero-sum game like the stock market. If someone becomes successful, it does not mean that someone else must do badly to compensate. By empowering others, the universe avails infinite energy to you that you can constantly re-invest. With all this positive energy at your disposal, you and those around can only but be successful.

During my career, I have been fortunate enough to gain access to valuable information and learn from many knowledgeable people. I have been curating this information and plan to use this blog to distribute it for all to benefit. There is of course loads that I still do not know so I encourage everyone to participate and also share their knowledge so that we can all benefit.

For now I will focus on the following topics:
  • Starting businesses and raising money
  • Private equity and venture capital
  • Saving and investing in:
    • Shares
    • Property
    • Start-ups
  • Leadership
  • Career advice

Happy reading - I hope you find it beneficial!

See you soon,

Hey Alex, like the idea of your blog!
I recently listened to two audio books that I've been avoiding/delaying for many years:
The Monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Scharma,
and that old classic Think and grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
It almost sounds like you read them two.... hehe.
You know with these lofty ideals of yours you should maybe consider a return to SA in the future? A lot of potential but a massive need for entrepreneurial talent and experience!
Looking forward to reading your blog!

All the best!
Johan

Hey Johan,

Thank you for my first ever blog comment, all very inspiring!

Incidentally I haven't read those books but I have heard they are really good - I guess lots of them a similar so I'll add them to my list and see if I can distil out the important bits to share with everyone.

I do love SA and even from the 'comfort' of the UK, I'm doing numerous things for people back home and plan to do more every year!

Thank you for all your kind words and support.

Cheerio,

Alex
